This has “C13-16 Isoparaffin” listed under the ingredients. I’m not sure, but I read that fatty acids with carbon chain lengths 11-24 feed malassezia. Does this apply to squalane oil?
Otherwise, this is very lightweight with an almost velvety-touch, and it didn’t sting or irritate my skin. But if you have very dry skin you might want to try something that’s more moisturising. I had to pair this with vaseline to keep my skin hydrated.

Unfortunately, it does, Malassezia can utilize this compound to grow albeit very slowly. However, some folks say “Sugar Cane” instead of Olive Derived Squalane like this Squalane Oil Moisturizer , doesn’t give them any problems. It can also feed on mineral oil too but again, slowly.
