  This is palm oil that has been turned into soap. Soap is made by cooking oil with an alkali, which changes the oil into soap salts. Because it is no longer an oil, we do not count it toward the oil-free filter. Its fatty acids are still C12 to C18, which Malassezia can feed on, so we keep it flagged. We have not found a study that tests soaps made from oils directly.
